Life is what you make it – the only limits are the ones we set for ourselves. I am grateful for the journey I have been on and the many lessons I have learned.

Everyone had sold me on the idea that if I was going to be successful, I needed to go to college, get a job and work my way up. After years of unfulfilling jobs, I kept reaching a ceiling with no room for growth. I was going through the motions and not living life to the fullest. It was a low period for me as I tried to figure out what needed to change.

At just 17, I was offered a record deal with my band. Growing up, I would visualize myself on a tour bus or playing live at shows. It was all I could think about, and I made it my reality. Once I turned 18, I signed the record deal, and we started touring worldwide. I was living out my dreams. My family was proud of me, but they were adamant I continue my education while touring. I agreed and enrolled online at Northern Arizona University. On one occasion while in Japan and after finishing a show the night before, I had to wake up at two in the morning and go to a massive ballroom with people around me speaking different languages just to take a midterm exam. It was a surreal moment – my life was far from ordinary.

The decision to leave the band was a pivotal moment. It wasn’t easy to step away from the amazing life we were living, but I was convinced that after graduating college, I needed to find a job and start climbing the ranks. It was crushing to realize the working world wasn’t what I had expected. I was eager to show my skills and make a difference. Unfortunately, most of the time, I was expected to keep quiet, do my job, and stay in my lane.

After years of trying different roles and attempting to find my place, I felt detached from my rock and roll background. I felt like the kid whose dreams came true was a different person entirely. To sum it up, I felt like a failure. When I needed it most, I came across the book “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill. The book studies hundreds of self-made millionaires and concludes that the one thing they all have in common is how they think.

It was a lightbulb moment; I could create the life I wanted and play an active role in my reality. Anything I visualize and put my mind to, I can do. From there, my journey truly started. I began to improve my self-talk, working out, meditating, and doing breathwork – anything that would improve my life balance. The kid who visualized himself touring the world was still me; I just needed to get back to those basic skills of believing anything is possible.

On this journey of finding myself, I became interested in real estate. The more I learned, the more excited I was to have a path with limitless opportunities and potential. When I became a licensed real estate professional, I went all in. It was certainly daunting, but I was ready for the challenge. The more I pushed myself out of my comfort zone, the better I did. It reaffirmed that I could forge my own path and create the life I wanted.

Having a new outlook on life, I have found immense happiness and hope to share what I have learned on my journey with others. In my free time, I cohost a podcast called Perspective Shift, where we aim to teach others how changing your mindset can change your life. In everything I do, I hope to make a positive difference.

Helping people is one of the most rewarding parts of real estate. I enjoy showing people how they can make smart financial decisions. If I see an opportunity to save my clients money, I will do it without hesitation. It is easier to work with people than against them. I look past emotions and ego and focus on what truly matters: my client’s best interests.

In 2022, I was honored to be recognized as the Top 1% of Real Estate Agents in Maricopa County. In 2023, I received the "40 Under 40" Award from both Phoenix and Scottsdale Homeowner Magazine and I was selected to take part in the West and SouthEast REALTORS® of the Valley (WeSERV) Leadership Program. These achievements reflect my growth and desire to keep perfecting my work.

I believe it matters what you put out into the world. With every transaction, I offer a positive and fun experience. I make sure every client I work with receives the highest level of service. I genuinely care about my clients and their success. When you work with me, I do everything I can to educate you, offer guidance, and serve as a resource throughout the entire buying or selling process. When the transaction is over, I will continue to assist you as your REALTOR® for life, offering my services and support.

Sincerely,

Michael Kitlas
